We will help you choose the right program for you and your dog!

Puppy Head Start

Start your new puppy on the right paw with our Puppy Head Start Training Program.  This class is perfect for puppies 10 weeks up to 1 year of age.  Here you will learn housebreaking training techniques, becoming the pack leader for your puppy, basic social skills, and basic commands such as sit, stay, down, place, walking on a loose leash and heal.

Basic Obedience

Our Basic Obedience Program is specifically tailored to dogs 1 year and older with no previous training.  This class will focus on teaching basics commands such as sit, down, place, come, implied stay, walking loose leash and heel.  This on-leash program teaches basic commands and how to have a well-balanced dog.

Intermediate Obedience

If your dog already knows basic cues, our Intermediate Obedience Program will help your pup in situations involving more distractions, distance, and duration.  This class will focus on the long distance come command, fetching and tug with drop command, basics of agility as well as the pleasures of having a well-behaved companion off-leash.

Social Etiquette

Some dogs just are not able to interact with other canine friends or humans without displaying fear or shyness.  This Socialization Training Program will help your dog learn to overcome these fears in a safe environment.  Your pup should have exposure to all types of dogs.  This class will teach your dog there is a certain and proper way to socialize with others in the dog world.

Canine Good Citizen

Canine Good Citizen (CGC), emphasizes good behavior in social and community settings.  This AKC program is a great foundation for any canine’s training.  In this bonding experience with your dog they will also learn to better socialize with other people, pets, and even work on adjusting to daily routines.  This certificate program is widely recognized and even required by many communities.

As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training. You’ll enhance your bond with your dog, and dogs with basic obedience training are a joy to live with.  CGC trained dogs interact well with people and other dogs and also respond well to household routines.

The CGC program offers many practical advantages too. The CGC award is a prerequisite for many therapy dog groups. Even some homeowner’s insurance companies encourage CGC testing, and an increasing number of apartments and condos require that resident dogs pass the CGC test. The tagline of the CGC program is, “Responsible Owners, Well-Mannered Dogs,” and that is what CGC is all about.

Upon successful completion of this class, you and your dog will have mastered the following:

  1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger
  2. Sitting Politely for Petting
  3. Appearance and Grooming
  4. Out for a Walk
  5. Walking Through a Crowd
  6. Sit and Down / Staying in Place
  7. Coming When Called
