Some dogs just are not able to interact with other canine friends or humans without displaying fear or shyness. This Socialization Training Program will help your dog learn to overcome these fears in a safe environment. Your pup should have exposure to all types of dogs. This class will teach your dog there is a certain and proper way to socialize with others in the dog world.
Canine Good Citizen
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), emphasizes good behavior in social and community settings. This AKC program is a great foundation for any canine’s training. In this bonding experience with your dog they will also learn to better socialize with other people, pets, and even work on adjusting to daily routines. This certificate program is widely recognized and even required by many communities.
As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training. You’ll enhance your bond with your dog, and dogs with basic obedience training are a joy to live with. CGC trained dogs interact well with people and other dogs and also respond well to household routines.
The CGC program offers many practical advantages too. The CGC award is a prerequisite for many therapy dog groups. Even some homeowner’s insurance companies encourage CGC testing, and an increasing number of apartments and condos require that resident dogs pass the CGC test. The tagline of the CGC program is, “Responsible Owners, Well-Mannered Dogs,” and that is what CGC is all about.
